View Full Version : Error opening admin after installation
latest pro edition Installed fine but when I click to go to admin, I get the following error:
(Please note, I have the correct permissions per solution #1;
There is no sohoadmin/config/isp.conf.php -- I have three files there: host.conf.php, license.txt and user.conf.php)
Dir Creation Error: Error Creating /home/walter/public_html/media directory
Dir Creation Error: Error Creating /home/walter/public_html/import directory
Dir Creation Error: Error Creating /home/walter/public_html/tCustom directory
Dir Creation Error: Error Creating /home/walter/public_html/template directory
Possible Solution:
1. Change permissions on your document root directory (eg: CHMOD -R a+rw htdocs).
2. Modify sohoadmin/config/isp.conf.php file for doc_root to equal /home/walter/public_html.
What to do now?
Many thanks.

chech if you are the owner for the directories (media and images and the whole public_html)
soholaunch also needs permissions to write the isp.conf.php in the config directory.

Yes, "walter" is the owner on all files except type.lic and soholaunch.lic which belong to nobody.nobody
I have installed six or seven licenses already and have not had this problem. I'm going to delete and reinstall to see if that fixes it. In the meantime if anyone can point me to the solution, I am grateful.

I reinstalled from root and changed permissions on sohoadmin to 777. I still get the same error when I try to login as admin. I am installing on Cpanel Server.

Hello? I checked the isp.conf.php (which it generated this time) and the info is correct (see below). I have deleted and reinstalled three times and I get the same error.
I need help with this, please?

How are you changing your permissions, through a control panel, ftp, or ssh? Alot of times control panels say they change permissions but actualy do not.

installed and changed permissions via SSH
When I installed 4.6 (way back when), I had a problem because of Cpanel -- don't remember what it was or how I solved it. It was discussed on the old forums and I figured out the solution because of what I read there.

I just installed via the Fantastico Interface and now I only get this:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, wwwadmin@alaria.us and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This sounds like a permissions problem. Do you know if PHP suexec is installed on the server? If it is then permissions need to be no higher than 755. Also any .htaccess file needs to be removed from the installation folder.

I am running into the same problem. Problem first appeared after hosting company upgraded servers to a new platform. Now I'm getting the Internal Server Error on all pages and cannot access the admin pages either.

you don't need 777. just be sure the sohoadmin is using the apache user and group. that worked for me.

I bet the permissions are wrong!
Take a look here on how to fix it http://forum.soholaunch.com/showthread.php?t=1087 and, as Soho says, delete .htaccess.
Happy landing!
