I have installed Pro 4.6 using Cameron Allen's Install instructions, (Nice Job by the way).
Everything went well. Until I tried to log in using the new/default login username and password of "admin"
I have seent his problem before, and the answer was in the opld forum but looks like al the good info is gone.
So could someone refresh my memory as to the problem? I know its simple, just can remember the fix.
Thanks

OK, something just came to mind, the domain has not actually propagted yet, maybe the license is trying to ping back to the site with the domain name and it can't. Do you think that might be the case?

If you got to the login screen the domain has probably propigated. Go into /sohoadmin/config/ and delte the isp.conf.php file and go through the login screen and re-enter the database info. I would recomend dropping your old database and creating a new one just to be safe.

Well the domain hasnt propagated. This is a Ensim server. What I did is the following:
http://XXX.XX.XXX.XX/domain-name.com/sohoadmin
(XXX.XX.XXX.XX being the server IP address the domain is hosted)
I really didnt think that would work but I was able to get to the log-in screen. So that is why I wondered about the domain not being propagated yet. (The domain name record hasnt even been changed yet to point to my server as of this post)
I will wait until the domain propagates then try again if still not successful, I will try what you suggested after the domain name propagates.

R-n-R, i can confirm that you have to wait untill the domain name propagates. I had the same problem.

You can actualy login before it propagates if you go into the windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts, open up the hosts file and add the server ip that the domain is on and you can access soholaunch go through setup.

Cameron, this will not work on a system running Ensim for Linux :p
but there are off course workarounds for linux as well.
I must say i like running soholaunch locally, setting up the site and upload everything when the domain has propaged.

I should clarify, you modify this file on your local windows pc, that way it points to your linux server. And if you are on a Linux box, than you are hard core enough to figure out a way, lol.

Ok, I finally got past the domain not propagating problem, all the above was about the domain not propagating but that lead to a totally NEW problem.
I get the following error when I log in as "admin" "admin" the first time:
Dir Creation Error: Error Creating /home/virtual/site117/fst/var/www/html/media directory
Dir Creation Error: Error Creating /home/virtual/site117/fst/var/www/html/images directory
Dir Creation Error: Error Creating /home/virtual/site117/fst/var/www/html/import directory
Dir Creation Error: Error Creating /home/virtual/site117/fst/var/www/html/tCustom directory
Dir Creation Error: Error Creating /home/virtual/site117/fst/var/www/html/template directory
Possible Solution:
1. Modify sohoadmin/config/isp.conf.php file for doc_root to equal /home/virtual/site117/fst/var/www/html.
2. Change permissions on your document root directory (eg: CHMOD -R a+rw htdocs).
OK, with Cameron's much needed help, I FOUND and CORRECTED THE PROBLEM , what a really weird problem!
OK, for anyone that runs a Ensim Control panel for SOME STUPID reason when loading a new site Ensim gives ownership to "apache" for some folders. dont know why.
(for some dumb reason not even looking at ownership, I was focused on CHMOD)
I changed the ownership from apache using the chown command,
chrown -R admin117.admin117 /home/virtual/site117/fst/var/www/html/sohoadmin (note the site number in this case was 117, replace 117 with your sites number)
and after the change I ran the chmod command for sohoadmin (chmod -R a+rw) and now everything works just fine!
