Hi:
I downloaded the CIA FONTS plug-in. Unzipped it. Now I'm confused how to access it through the text editor. I tried usingthe plug-in button on the menu bar but there are no exe. files to run. The files I have are:
CIA Font Icon
CIA fonts
Cia fonts
config toolbar auto-repl
config toolbar-repl
install_manifest
Need a step by step help here.:wtf:

You don't want to unzip the plugin. You want to download the .zip file to your desktop, enter sohoadmin --> manage plugins, then browse for the plugin on your desktop. After you install your plugin, you'll have an options button under "manage plugins" where you can type the name of the font(s) you want to add. After you've saved them, go to the text editor and they should be there. If you have any problems, check back. Also, make sure you are up to at least v4.9r21.

Cica:
I'm not sure what version I have, it's whatever Blue Voda supplies through their website.
Needless to say, I followed your instructions: accessed the zip file through Manage Plugin, but go the following error message:
Could not successfully extract zip file (CIA_Fonts-v1.1.zip). You may want to check whether the .zip archive file itself is incomplete/damaged. To do this, use WinZip or similiar utility on your local PC to open up the plugin .zip file you downloaded... If the .zip opens in WinZip with no error message, and you can see all the files and folders within the .zip, then the archive is probably OK. Otherwise, if you do get an error when you try to open the plugin .zip with WinZip, then try re-downloading the plugin .zip, or contacting the plugin author if that doesn't work. Error: Unable to detect name of extracted folder.I gather from this that I don't have v4.9r21. Is this correct?
Where do I get the upgraded version?

I'm guessing it's probably the permission settings on the plugin folder of your site. Go to Help Center --> Diagnostics and see if your permission settings are ok. If you want me to check for you, PM me with your login info, otherwise, you may need to pull a support ticket with soho.

hello,
trying to install cia fonts and getting an error message the same as posted in this thread earlier (i.e. error - zip file may be corrupt, etc). i checked thru diagnostics module and about half a doz folders/files show permission settins of 755, BUT when I go into cpanel to change permission settings the same folders/files are already showing 777 in my cpanel.
any idea where to go from here? i'm stumped.

Hi,
I am running V4.9.2 r17. When I have selected the CIA Fonts plugin and want to install I get the following message:
Unable to open sohoadmin/program/modules/editor/config/config_toolbar.php for writing! Check permissions on this file.Unable to open sohoadmin/program/modules/editor/config/config_toolbar_auto.php for writing! Check permissions on this file.Unable to open sohoadmin/program/modules/editor/config/config_toolbar.php for writing! Check permissions on this file.
It strikes me when I lookup the path there is no editor file in the modules file. When I go to plugins the CIA Font plugin is there. It also accepts adding Verdana. But nothing changes in the text editor.
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Theo

You may want to check your permissions. Also if your using lunar pages
you may be experenceing some thing there doing.A lot of people have been having problems with that host lattely.

Have you tried to do an soho update.
Or in your case re-update.
Then check if the files are in your c panel.
/public_html/sohoadmin/program/modules/editor
And of course the permissions are set wright.
Other wise you may want to do a soho reinstall.

ok, seems the same issue I have , has been had. My CIA fonts dont work now that I have upgraded to v4.9.2r17. It is listed in my plug ins, it worked fine before, it still lists my choices of fonts, but none of them show up in the font choices in the text edit boxes.
I do see this was created in 06. Is soho going to update it to work with the current versions of soho?
We also tried to go back to the older version, so I could continue to use , but I cant go back.
Can you help, or tell me how to submit a trouble tkt, if there is such a thing?
Thanks

The fonts can be found in the font manager in the 4.9.2r17 and the v4.9.3.3
by going to the page editer and clicking on the font button,Just to the right of
the font boxes. The plugin is not used or needed anymore.

DUH!! How long have we been using this Soholaunch release!!! Thanks you for the feedback. Bill
I went looking for the free CIA Fonts plug-in and it's gone from the addons site, so I seached the forum and found this thread.
The thing is, the font I want to use on my site (Hancock) isn't in the list of options. Is there a way I can add it and use it on sites safely. A junior "web guru" said I have to create pictures of every word I want in that font as even if I could render text in Hancock, it wouldn't appear right to site viewers. Is that right?

A font is visible only when the visitor's computer has it. "Hancock" font is obviously not very popular (I don't have it on my computer, for instance) and it will be substituted with the default font.
Stay with the choice offered by the text editor.
