Updates/Images not loading

I have soho ver. 4.8.5 r15 installed via fantastico. Most of the features work fine, but when adding images or new text to the homepage, nothing shows up after saving. I looked through the forums and was unable to find anything that works to fix it.

Go to the Help Center > Diagnostics and see what the permissions are on this folder..

The perms are set to 777.

I am now having problems on the admin area as well. You can login, but the menu page is blank. Any suggestions?

Okay, I ran the updater and I can log in now, but I still cannot save images on the homepage.

Check out your home page. I just stuck your 50Lighters.jpg image on it, saved the page, all good. Were you talking about something else?
