Problem with File Manager

I am able to successfully upload files such as pdf and jpg but when I try to add or preview them to a page I get this error: Please advise.

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /media/Falcon.pdf on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

hi, first thing to check is to see how big your pdf file is. if your on phone line or dsl and the pdf is large enough for the server to time out before the file is uploaded through cpanel. try to use ftp instead. click search for ftp tutorials..some free ones (http://www.vodahost.com/tut_ftp.htm) if you need to learn how to use them. each of these works the same with different functions. I've been all over the forums and I imagine the answer is in here somewhere. I can't upload a 3.15 meg PDF to Media even with FTP. All permissions are set to 7's accross the board. I can create a new folder and FTP the PDF up just fine. I also understand 80% are on high speed now. I do hope there is a way to allow larger uploads soon.
