Plugin: Soho Chat

Just wanted to let everyone know about a new FREE plugin called Soho Chat (https://addons.soholaunch.com/index.php?pr=View_Addon&addonid=151). It is a simple chat that allows anyone that is logged into their sohoadmin panel to chat with other Soholaunch site owners logged into sohoadmin. So instead of emailing back and fourth or waiting on a response on the forums you could simply login to Soho Chat and ask someone there. If we can get enough people using it then it will become quite a big help for users that need to ask a quick question or just want to chat with other Soholaunch users.

I login to Soho Chat (https://addons.soholaunch.com/index.php?pr=View_Addon&addonid=151) whenever I get a spare moment and have made a point to be logged in on Wednesday's around 12:00 EST. The more users like lwyau ;) we can get on there the better!

Great work I am certainly going to check this out.

Can we expect a version that can be used on Soho sites any time in the near future. I have a client that wants a chat feature and threatens to go Joomla if I can't provide.

Hey Theo,

This plugin allows users logged into sohoadmin to chat with other Soholaunch users, not place a chat on their site for visitors to use. It was built to help Soholaunch users communicate better with each other.

If your client wants a simple chat placed on their site, I am sure you could find a simple/free open source one. Google php chat (http://www.google.com/search?q=php+chat), or java chat (http://www.google.com/search?q=java+chat). ;)

Hi Joe,

The point is that this guy (my clients webmaster) wants to be able to manage everything from within the site editor. Like in Joomla :( Actually he wants everything like in Joomla. But that is another discussion.

I would be nice though to have such a plugin :cool:

Hello,

I just installed soho chat while testing my plug-in capabilities. It uploads fine and shows info when I click on edit. But when I try to bring it up, it comes to a page saying "page not found".

I unistalled and re-installed it and got the same thing. Can anyone help me figure this out. I do not own a license, I'm getting pro-edition through my host. The other things I installed in the plug-ins like the drop menu for page editing worked fine.

I did not realize that this was not working. I have fixed Soho Chat and it should be back up. You do not need to re-install. Thanks for letting me know about this.

Hey thanks, I thought I did something wrong. I'll have to re-install it though, but that's okay, it's saved on my computer. :)
