Trying Hard to Customize

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies to this post. I am trying to build a custom template. I am following the instructions in the "creating a custom template" file that I downloaded by Jaun. I was able to get everything accomplished until I had to hit F12 to view my page as per the steps in the tutorial. Dreamweaver asks if I want to save the file...
If I say yes, then when the preview comes up, it is a blank page and if I try to open the html file directly, it is also a blank page. If I say NO, the the preview is fine but I am not sure what I am to do at that point. I tried to say yes and I uploaded the file, with all the images ect... as per the tutorial, but the template manager says that "This template does not seem to be in format." Iam not sure if I am doing something wrong or if ???? Im at a loss. Thanks for any info.

I believe you need to rename the template folder in a similar way to the names of current templates, and then ZIP the folder up using winzip, then upload it thru the wizard. On the other hand, you could just rename it and up it via ftp client to the templates file, and it should also appear in your list of templates that way as well. Ive done it both ways.
