After initial server install, all appears working except we are unable to create new pages. The home page is showing and we can edit it but cannot create new pages.
Are we missing a setting somewhere?

Do a search for update_client.php but as of my post, there is no reply.

Most likely it is the file permission(s).
/ public_html / sohoadmin / program / modules / page_editor / save_page.php
The permission cannot allow Group or User WRITE authority. Change the permission to 755 (777, 775, 757 will not work).
You will need to attempt each function in SohoAdmin and change the specific file permissions when you incounter a problem. I find using the Web/FTP Stats in CPanel, then Error Log will show me what file needs to be changed.
Good luck.

I looked in the error log and couldn't find any error relating to the inability to edit let alone save the default Welcome page. That page does not show up at all except when you view the site. It is frustrating at best and I was hoping that SoHo Launch Pro would be a nice addition to our services. Not at this rate and not yet. The rest of the pages save without a problem. I did chmod that one file 777 but that didn't seem to make any difference, though now the "Home page" won't appear on the Edit page screen at all.
Whenver I go to the site after editing files, the home page always says:
Welcome to your new website!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Each of the pages you selected in the Wizard have been created and are now ready for you to edit. In many cases, pages have been populated with generic text and styles to help give you a head-start on formatting your content. If this will be your first website, now is the perfect time to experiment and get aquantied with the various features at your disposal.
And I can't do anything about it....gotta be something I'm missing...something easy.
Greetings,
My name is Mark and I'm working with oneeach/Tony setting up the server in question.. Perhaps I can add a little detail..
The htdocs directory in question is owned by the group "wheel" and the user that apache (our webserver) runs as. I have tried permissions 0777, 0775, 0755, 0750, 0700 (prefer to not give others any permissions to run around in the various hosts websites). The initial wizard ran fine and created all of the initial files/pages and we can edit the main page adding and removing things at will with no problem (so permissions doesn't seem to be stopping things). We simply cannot create additional pages. When we try, it gives us the message that the page was successfully created but the only page is still the initial main page..
Hope that helps a bit,
Thanks,
Mark
P.S. When I say the htdocs directory, I mean recursively (htdocs and all directories/files within).

Hi Mark,
You are luckier than me. In the Edit Content page the Main page is a no show. The only pages I can edit are the sub-pages I created in the Wizard. The net result is a site that when viewed says this on the Main page:
Welcome to your new website!

I am ready to just edit the page by hand and forget SOHO Pro. I'm doing this for a relative on my server. I WAS going go offer it to clients, but I'm afraid the aggravation won't be worth it and the level of support it would take is horrifying.
Do you know the name of the Main page I should edit off hand? Or is it coded so I couldn't change it by hand anyway?
....sign me frustrated....
