Can't format template right. WHY NOT ?

I've tried everything I can think of and I still get the same error message that my template is not formatted right. I even tried to downloaded free Soho. templates provided by ICESTORM called PERSONAL1. PERSONAL2 & PERSONAL3 and I get the same error message. I've spent more time trying to get this to work right than I've spent building a custom template from scratch. I'm using version v4.9 r51 provided by ICESTORM. Why is the info from Soho. so vague on this and so many people having the same problem. Very frustrating and not happy with product :(

when you upload them via sohoadmin template manager, are you uploading the .zipped file? or the template folder itself?

Icestorm's Personeal 1, 2, and 3 templates no longer conform with the latest soho template specifications:

All files in a template have to be in the template's folder and these templates have subfolders.
