View Full Version : A problem with quantities in in checkout

I have the soho shopping cart system and I am having a problem with quantities, the items I have in my store I wasn't worried about the quantity as I was
selling as I can make the garments, so in that case quantities did not matter.
Howeve,r I have a few items I wanted to special out as only one item for sale
and once that item was purchased it wasn't available to the next customer. So
I put the items in my store in a category Items on Sale. I set the item
inventory that is usually at 5,000 to 1 I set the button qty on..then I
went in and did a trial run and purchased an item. But the quantity did not
decrease. I did the tutorials, it said nothing about quantity, so now I am
not sure what to do. I want the quantity to work, if there is only one item
for sale and its purchased then it reverts to not for sale as it said it would
do automatically.

Hi there, Please can you advise if you received a final answer as I wish to sell only single items and just started with Soho yesterday. Help appreciated, Regs Rob

i didnt test long enough and now see problems,first with accepting just cheque/money orders the checkout process doesnt go to step 6 so it might not subtract that quanity until you go to shopping cart-view online orders/invoices and mark the order as closed,i am not using the shopping cart now but plan on using it in the future
there a new update r14 with a few shopping cart fixes,hope this solves all the problems

AGH..I AM WORIED NOW....Many thanks for replying. I have made a few transactions today and my item inventory was set at 50. dissapointingly the item count did not reduce and still show 50 and these where Paypal ransactions?.
Please can someone at Soho advise if there is a link needed or will Ihave to manage all my individual sales manually? If the latter is the case I am doomed to never leave my PC!. Thanks Rob

Go to sohoadmin > shopping cart > invoices/orders and take a look. What do the order status field say?

With PayPal, you are sending the customer to PayPal's site to do the payment. If the customer does not click on the button that says "back to the merchant's website" (or the phrase you chose), soho has no way of knowing the payment was complete. In these cases, you will see the status to be "sent", and soho really doesn't know (nor given the chance to) if it should reduce your inventory count or not.
