Site Backup error...

Quick question… I am getting this error from new site backup feature:

Could not create dir!

This is code inserted into the backup page source:

<script language="javascript">window.alert('Could not create dir!');</script>

Any idea what needs to be done to fix?

Checked all permissions and everything is cool...

for as far as i can see, here are my backups stored:

/var/www/html/sohoadmin/program/webmaster/backups/
permissions:
backups folder 755

in the backups folder it will create a folder with the files and a backup tar.gz file.
