How can change the backgound color for the Landscape Blue Mountain Template to black instead of white? where do i need to start?

You need to know how to define background color in html or css and edit either or both html.index and custom.css file(s) in the template folder sohoadmin/program/modules/site_templates/pages//LANDSCAPE-Mountains_Man-Blue/

Then maybe you should not attempt to do this yourself.
Can someone do this one thing for you? The answer is obviously yes. However, this is the type of thing that will lead to second, third and many more once you get started. Personally I don't think a black background will look too good without changing the header image and what about the news boxes (you see what I mean)...
