Insert page

I would like to have custom pages (html and php) display within the #CONTENT# section of my SL website. When I try this with a simple htm page with just one line of code -

<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0;url=http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/articles/index.php" />

the top, side and bottom disappear from my page, no header, no menu, just the page I am trying to insert into the middle ???

any help and tips will be greatly appreciated.
