We received some emails and other communications recently that expressed an interest in having a trial of soholaunch available before purchase. (sometimes people confuse us with Soholaunch due to our advocacy of the software)
We have always assumed that there wasn't an available demo for security reasons. We were thinking of spending a little free time to do a flash simulation (different from the presentations we sell).
Would this be beneficial? Or does Soholaunch have it in their plans to have a demo avaialble on the site. Thanks

You can make the latest version of Soholaunch into a demo site by adding the following lines to the isp.conf.php. Open up the isp.conf.php file, which is found in /sohoadmin/config/ and add the following two lines at the bottom:
demo_site=yes
demo_limit=10
By inserting that I have made the site a demosite. Now when someone logs in they can play around with all the features. When the session limit is up (demo_limit, which is in minutes) it logs them out, deletes all content, and runs the next user through the wizard. Also note that the password resets to the default password found in the isp.conf.php when the session is over, and only one user can login to a demo site at a time.

Hmm does this work with the version of SohoLaunch auto installed by Fantastico? Also, does SohoLaunch somehow auto update to the latest version?

Yes, it does - it's installed on the web site. All Fantastico does is auto-install. To update to the latest versions, I believe that you'll need to make sure that you regularly log in to Fantastico's Admin area on your server and manually update Fantastico when it says you need to - if you don't have a server, make sure your host is vigilent about it. They come out with new bundles almost every week or two sometimes as holes are found, and it's a really important thing to do.
If there is an upgrade, update available, your Fantastico panel will let you know it's there and how to upgrade.
And thanks, Cameron, for letting me know that demo mode resets files after 10 minutes - i did not know that, and I am now running to go set up my Demo site. :)

Does this still work. If so plse help me trace /sohoadmin/config where the isp.conf.php is found.
Is the php code still as indicated?
Will really appreciate.

Yes, it is still as indicated - and what you listed is actually where it is found.

Hi people,
This was just what I was looking for. The main feature that I like is that the site switches back to a standard after the demo. I do however have something of a wish list.
When I change the language to Dutch in the non-demo version and then turn the site into a demo site the language switches to English again. Is there a way to alter this so the default language remains Dutch.
If at all possible I would like to make some more alterations. e.g. Skip the wizard and have my customers play around with lets say three pages. Switch of 'Create New Page(s)' and maybe some other features.
Where can I find the code to have a look.
Regards,
Theo
