I have submitted previous threads about formatting issues I had using soholaunch but changed templates and it resolved those issues (outdated templates I believe) but now have a different problem with my current template. Issue: Changing background color
I have read the various threads about changing the background colors on a template but some of those replies that might be applicable seem out-dated. Here are my specifics.
1) I am using Web Builder/soholaunch through my host Lunar Pages; v4.91r7
2) I am using template ART:Fun Photography (different colors for different pages of web site)
3) Current background color is 'white'
4) I have attempted to change the color of the background using the Template Manager and can go as far as selecting the color I want (incl the code) from the drop-down menu but when I click the "OK" button, and then save the page - the background color does not change.
Solution that will allow me to change the background color?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

It is not easy as you'd think...
You can add a background color to the <body> tag of your template index.html file, but then you have to edit each and everyone one of the background images (there are many of them) used in the template to replace the white background color to the one you choose.
You will need an image editing software to change image files.

Thanks for the response but let me see if I've got this straight. Despite the fact that the Template Manager includes a drop-down menu (to include color codes) and an "OK" button to boot after making a so-called selection, that is pretty much useless? Just out of curiosity, what is the point of the drop-down menu and "ok" button then? Is this a normal soholaunch "easy step" procedure? Also, the old template I was referring to also had a drop-down menu that allowed changes to background colors .... that never was a problem before.
Okay, having vented, I need a little more help in making the changes you stated. Well, I lied, I'll need a lot of help. How would I go about doing this - will this involve changing and uploading new html code and such?

Where did you get this dropdown menu from the template manager? For this template, only available options are header text and logo image.
Yes you need to change html code and edit image files in sohoadmin/program/modules/site_templates/pages/pages/ART-Fun_Photography-Teal/ folder. Read this document: http://wiki.soholaunch.com/index.php?title=Custom_Templates

Not when I go to my site's admin page .....
When I go to my web site admin page, under Basic Features I click on Open/Edit Pages and see the following task bar at top of page (shown here in column format):
Edit Page(s)
Save Page
Save As Preview Page
Page Properties
Upload Files
Main Menu
By clicking on "Page Properties" the following comes up in the form of a menu selection:
Page Name:
Note: Please use only alpha-numeric characters and spaces in your page name.
Splash Page: (Only content displayed; no template.)
Background: Select color... Alice Blue Antique White Aqua Aquamarine Azure Beige Bisque Black Blanchedalmond Blue Blueviolet Brown Burly Wood Cadetblue Chartreuse Chocolate Coral Cornflowerblue Cornsilk Crimson Cyan Darkblue Darkcyan Darkgoldenrod Darkgray Darkgreen Darkkhaki Darkmagenta Darkolivegreen Darkorange Darkorchid Darkred Darksalmon Darkseagreen Darkslateblue Darkslategray Darkturquoise Darkviolet Deeppink Deepskyblue Dimgray Dodgerblue Firebrick Floralwhite Forestgreen Fuchsia Gainsboro Ghostwhite Gold Goldenrod Gray Green Greenyellow Honeydew Hotpink Indianred Indigo Ivory Khaki Lavender Lavenderblush Lawngreen Lemonchiffon Lightblue Lightcoral Lightcyan Lightgoldenrodyellow Lightgreen Lightgray Lightpink Lightsalmon Lightseagreen Lightskyblue Lightslategray Lightateelblue Lightyellow Lime Limegreen Linen Magenta Maroon Mediumaquamarine Mediumblue Mediumorchid Mediumpurple Mediumseagreen Mediumslateblue Mediumspringgreen Mediumturquoise Mediumvioletred Midnightblue Mintcream Mistyrose Moccasin Navajowhite Navy Oldlace Olive Olivedrab Orange Orangered Orchid Palegoldenrod Palegreen Paleturquoise Palevioletred Papayawhip Peachpuff Peru Pink Plum Powderblue Purple Red Rosybrown Royalblue Saddlebrown Salmon Sandybrown Seagreen Seashell Sienna Silver Sklyblue Slateblue Slategray Snow Springgreen Steelblue Tan Teal Thistle Tomato Turquoise Violet Wheat White Whitesmoke Yellow Yellowgreen
Custom Color
Background Image: Current Images: [List of all images I have downloaded]
The background selection you see above is the drop-down menu I was referring to. When I select a color from that drop-down menu it automatically fills in the color code.
At the bottom of this page are two buttons:
Delete Page or OK
I'll take a look at your reference.
Thanks

The background color provision in page properties section of the page editor pertains to splash pages (pages without templates) only. It is not applicable to pages with templates.

Okay. Thanks. As to changing the html code, let me have your opinion on something. I haven't changed code before but it sounds a tad too much to go through just to change the background color. What is the potential for an amateur like myself to really screw up the code and ruin the website altogether (ie. delete an important part of the code by accident, change something I shouldn't have etc). Is there a way to change the background color and change it for all pages at once or is each page on its own?

My suggestion is "don't mess with it and leave it to the professionals."
As I mentioned in my previous post, it is not just a simple code change at one place, and you have to edit images to support the desired background color you want.
By definition, once you change something such as the background color in a template, it is reflected on all pages using that template.

Thanks .... I think I'll just leave it. As it is not a "money-making" website the benefit of change does not out-weigh the risk. I'd like to learn code one day but I'll need more time, not to mention patience. Thanks again.
