This problem is because your server is running phpsuexec. phpsuexec is a program that prevents php files and their parent folder from having 777 permissions, which is what fantastico uses to install.
The solution:
Go into your fantastico admin area. The fantastico admin area is in Web Host Manager, under addons in the latest version of Fantastico. In older versions of Fantastico the fantastico admin area is located in the cpanel<fantastico for the first installed user.
Once you are in the fantastico admin area, click settings. Under settings set PHPsuexec is installed. Note that this change will only effect installations done after switching the phpsuexec option to installed. This means you will have to reinstall all non working copys of Soholaunch Pro Edition.

I get the same error message as mercer did, but I can't find my Fantastico admin manager. I'm using a free host (GWGaming.net), so could that be the problem? If so, how do I go about getting rid of PHPsuexec so I can run Soholaunch?

You need to contact your host to have them make this change in the fantastico admin area. You do not need to uninstall phpsuexec, just make the change in the fantastico admin area.
