Separate Template for A Page Not Taking

HI.

I am going to "Edit Pages" and then selecting a different template for one of the pages. I don't see anywhere to save the changes. Then I tried editing the page, saving it, and it when I go back, it's back to the default template.

it's automatically saved when you change the template from the dropdown menu.
