Default images or content

Is there a way to include default images or content when uploading a template site?

I would like to include images, documents, pdf, videosfiles, etc.. to be included with template pages. So when a User selects a template it would place the appropriate content in the User's site folders (images, media.. etc).

The base idea is to include images in the site design where a User could simply replace them in the file manager to change the design. Also, it will allow designers to create vertical market web sites with pre-made content (images, video, audio, docs..etc.).

In the next release we have added a feature to the template manager where users can upload custom templates in a zip format. The way to do this from the template creators side, is to create a folder named after the template. Inside that folder place the index.html folder along with all the images, and media included in the template, then create a zip out of that folder.

you can do this by setting up your default site with all your layout content etc then back it up and provide that file to users to restore onto their site.

You would also have to get them to upload the template files which are not sotred in the backup file at the moment.

Hey cameron ... maybe we could have an id in the template name which identified if it should be backed up with the rest of the site....I know it would be nice to know my custome templates were getting backed up with the data.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm really looking forward to trying the template upload feature in the new version.

I looking a provide a replicated solution to my clients. So, the ultimate goal is to provide pre-loaded website and content (include images, media, and along with the template), make it available in the template manager so anyone client can access and use it.

This would allow designerstand developers to offer great templates and contents for vertical markets.

I'm hoping this can be accomplished in the next version of SohoLaunch. :D
