Dear All,
I am a brand new user of soholaunch and I am very enthusiastic about it although I recognize some of its limitations too (e.g. no external links in menu).
I have been trying to figure out how to make the blog available to the public so that they can add their own messages/threads. So far I have only been able to add items as 'admin'. I have not yet found a way for the blog to be accessed by a non-admin user.
Any help would be appreciated with thanks.

Sorry I didn't keep the post URL, but I did keep the information. Someone posted this line if you wanted your link to go to an outside web site.
<?
$destination = "http://www.domainnamehere.com";
header("Location:$destination");
?>
Soholaunch can do a lot of things, sometimes you have to figure out what to do. However, I have the same blog problem.

Hi There and thanks very much for sending me the code for the outside links! I have tried it and it works well but am still wondering if it is possible to modify this code so that the browser opens in a new window.
The blog issue is quite serious though and may well mean using a number of unrelated systems rather than an integrated solution which I would prefer of course.
bye for now

mlapl1,
are you looking for some kind of 'review/comment' system, where users can add there comments?

Hi Ruben
Yes ... I am looking for something where a user writes an article about something of interest to them. It gets published and other people can comment/review etc. There are plenty of standalone systems around (and of course bulletin board systems such as this one) but a system integrated with soholaunch would be best and simplest.

One solution would be to create some kind of guest account inside soholaunch and give them access to that page.
the best solution would be to give them access to only 1 category of the blog manager without delete options, but that would be something Soholaunch techs need to develop.

I have tried to do that but nothing has changed - I will try again. I must be doing something wrong. There is simply no way I can identify to get the reply function activated.
When you say I need to create an account, I guess you mean an account which gives access to the page on which the blog itself is situated. Is that right? Or is there some other form of changing permission on the blog itself?

yes, you are correct, the page for the blog, but the problem is that there is not really a good option at this moment for users not to remove everything on the page. so i would not go that way.
It should not be so difficult to develop a module for this. We are working a 1 module at this moment and as soon as that has been finished im willing to take a look at this again.

I add my vote for a blog/BB system within soho. I want users to be able to add comments about topics, and perhaps set up topics as well...without having to do all the posting myself...
I'll watch for a response...

In fact this has forced me to use phpBBS as a replacement and of course users have to login again etc - it multiplies the work quite a lot - but I also understand the problems of product development very well and I really like the drag and drop concept etc it is so good that I am happy to live with the lack of integration for a while.
Cheers

Im sure there will be a comment/review module released in not too long time. (otherwise we will develop that one ourselves. Had it allready on my todo list.)

I am also a new user looking for the answer to this question. I was unsuccessful in finding the answer for this thread. I am an author of a children's book and am interested in allowing my readers to post comments/reviews on my website for others to see.
