I think a great feature would be to give the seller a chance to run promotional events, such as "free shipping this month" or "10% off this week" or "product x at 1/2 price today".
I recently started using the Calendar module -- I think it is well done. I wanted to have a recurring event where every month certain things would happen to help drive sales. Although I can set this up in the calendar so that my visitors can see what is happening -- I can not automate any kind of rebate or sales promotion.
I have seen other ecommerce sites use the concept of coupon codes to generate some sort of discount. This might be a nice addition also. Then sellers could use the enewsletter module to broadcast out coupon campaigns and drive sales traffic to their sites.
