The following features, from one of SohoLaunches informational pages, are the things I'd like to do, but can't find out from the tutorials how to.
Control alignment of text, images, tables, and other objects
Visually separate sections of content with horizontal dividers
Wrap paragraphs and text around images and tables
I am a Pet Photographer, and I will eventually have a few galleries of my work; Cats, Dogs, and People & Pets. On those pages I will have galleries with thumbnails and a larger image when clicked on. I haven't yet decided whether to use Coppermine, 4Image or another way to do it. It should be a simple page.
In any event, my site will have a number of photos strewn throughout. While editing the very first page, the about page, I've come across some things I know I ought to be able to do, but can't figure out.
1) I used the template builder to build a very simple two tone page. I added my own logo at top. Can I edit the LOGO with different colors sizes and placement on the top? Is there a way to edit the text in the top area, next to the LOGO, which was added as part of the template, to add to the top banner area or tweak the look of the site name?
2) I added three photos directly below the top banner, in thumbnail GIF format. While I have to resize them to make sure they are identical in size, is there anyway to adjust the spacing between them? (They are across horizontally, and I'd like to make them closer with less space between them.
3) I want to have an introduction of my business in a column down the middle. At discreet points in the intro I want to have a thmbnail to the right of the text. When I try to add the images in the right column, they all end up at the bottom of the text. The text goes left to right across the whole page. How can I limit the text so it does not go all the way across? I did cut and paste the text from NOTEPAD, where I cut and pasted it from a website I was buiding on another site, which I got my money back for. I think it may have something to do with it, but I'm not sure. In any event, I need to control the width of text on other pages. I have a feeling that building a table and entering text in some rows and pictures in the others may be the answer, but I also think there may be an easier way which I am just not looking at.
4) Can I place images in a text file? Doesn't seem to let me do this. How do I wrap text around an image?
I know I ought to be able to do these things, but I just can't find the instructions anywhere. Thanks for your help.
