I've set up a sign up sign up form for an eNewsletter campaign. The database table, my_newsletter, works and is adding email addresses. Only two fields: NAME and EMAILADDR.
I've tested the eNewsletter campaign part and it sends out the emails. What I am not getting is a confirmation email to the person who submits the form. I have a text file selected for "c. Content of Auto-Email:" I've copied the content of that file below. I guess I could do without the confirmation email, but it is a nice courtesy. Any ideas? Thanks! Another question: Does it matter whether the field names are in upper or lower case? ********************** Hi [name], Thanks for joining our mailing list! This email is to confirm the reception of your submitted data. Name : [name] Email Address : [emailaddr] Thank you. |

When you add a form to a page, the setup indicates that the confirmation email is optional:
"(Optional) Auto-Email to site visitor setup:" What triggers the confirmation email? Is it the text file I select from the drop down menu? Thanks for your help. |

The trigger of auto-email to site visitor is that you do have a field name called "emailaddr" in the form, which is in turn named as such when you select "email address" as the field type when creating the field.
Your form looks fine to me and it should send out auto-email to site visitors. One thing looks odd to me in that you did not specify an email address under "a. Email the data to Email Address:". I'd try to re do the form with that specified to see if it makes any difference (it shouldn't, but again I never had any form without the site owner being notified either).

I added an email address. Doesn't seem to affect problem.
I also took a print screen of database. Maybe that will offer a clue. http://www.fccgrayson.org/db.jpg Thanks. |

For the heck of it, I downloaded your form and tested it out on my test site. I received the auto-email notification!
So the issue is perhaps related to the email processing on your server. Here are a few points to look into: 1. Since you added the site owner's email address, did you receive the email notification sent to the site owner? 2. I notice that you have a "contact us" form. The visitor does not receive auto-response email because the field name for the email address is not correct (it has to be "emailaddr"). However, have you ever received any email notification as the site owner? 3. Check your spam filter to see if auto-response emails got trashed. If you have never received any auto emails, I suggest you check with your host to see if they can find anything wrong with the mail command processing on the server.
