Hi can any one tell me if i can make direct debits a payment otpion on my site without having to use some other company?
Or can anyone suggest a cheap cheap credit card processor for australia?

they only charge if you make a sale? 25.00 a mont if you make a sale...Thats it one time fee for that month, Instead of percentage taking....hope that helps.

eWay (http://www.eway.com.au/) is the credit card processor we use. They're good, cheap and Australian focussed, but you do need a merchant account. We've been using them for nearly 3 years now and are very happy.
