Now that I have a browser that works :)
Next question.
I would like to modify the "Your Location (ie: Atlanta, Ga):" text in the guest book add comment form? Where do I find the script?

media/guestbook_include.php

Thanks I found the spot.
Unfortunately I am unable to edit it, the user is 99 and group is 99, I don't own it and do not have permission to change group or owner

Any suggestions

Couple of suggestions:

1. See if you can rename the original module to something else, then upload your version.
2. Make your version a different name such as myown_guestbook.php, upload it and then drag and drop as custom code on the page.

suggestion 1: not an option owner is nobody so is the group
suggestion 2: can not up load using ftp, however I could drag and drop custom code onto the page, then use the upload option.

The changes took affect.
It will take some time to get use to this app.

Hi Paul,

I had similar problems and have spent a lot of time trying to solve it (supported by Mike). Your problems won't stop at the guestbook. Whenever you want to upload, delete or change anything you will be running into the same issue unless the owner issue is fixed. Unfortunately there is no permanent fix at the moment. It seems to be something that the cPanel people have to fix.

The workaround is as follows. Contact tech support at your ISP and ask them to change the settings from nobody in whatever it needs to be. Once that is done you're all clear.

You have to do this with every new install though.

Regards,

Theo

Thanks, I just wrote tech support. I will have to avoid new installing or upgrading until this inconvenience is cleared up.
