HDI create a page that goes to link?

I have a forum setup, and want to have a menu item that when clicked, doesn't open up a page on the site, but rather goes to my forum sub-domain.

http://forums.benchmark-avionics.com (when you click on menu item "forums")

Only thing I see that might let me do this is some .inc code, and I'm not sure what I should put in there.

Go to sohoadmin > menu navigation > add custom menu link (below the main pane) to add the custom link to your forum. It will then appear in the "available pages" list and can in turn be added to your menu.
