I purchased the Clean Versatile template and can only access the subpage. I didn't get the home page (with 4 boxes) or the news page. How can i access these?

You did get the home page template with 4 boxes. You need to:
1. Create four blog subjects for these boxes (sohoadmin > blog manager). 2. Map boxes to blog subjects (sohoadmin > template manager > template boxes). For the news template, it will display when you click on "read more" from any of those boxes.

I am also using the 'Clean Versatile' template for my website and have never had a problem with it. For your information the html files for your site pages are located here: Home Page.... /sohoadmin/program/modules/site_templates/pages/clean-versatile-startsub/home.html Sub Pages.... /sohoadmin/program/modules/site_templates/pages/clean-versatile-startsub/index.html News Pages... /sohoadmin/program/modules/site_templates/pages/clean-versatile-startsub/news.html Also for your information and anybody else who uses this template. This template was produced by ViaStep. ViaStep have an excellent support system and are very helpful with template queries. Support requests can be raised here: ViaStep support Mick

It would make it easier (as I can see this is a recurring problem) if Clean Versatile (Via Step) would be designed with 3 separate pages, so we could choose between the templates.

The Clean Versatile template follows the same template structure as with all Soho templates. That is 3 to 4 pages devoted to the home, sub, news and cart website pages. As with most of the Soho configuration it is fully flexible so if you preferred to use the sub-page format for your home page, you could simply copy/rename the associated .html and .css files or edit the originals to suit. I had to do this on several occasions. For example I took a dislike to the colour of the ugly brown footer at the bottom of the page and the text 'related pages' that is present on the sub-pages. You can also create your own template from the original files by copying the whole template directory to another name e.g. Shirleys-template. If you don't feel confident in editing html files you could also ask ViaStep to do it for you. Thanks Mick

After seeing yours, Mick I bought the Clean and Versitle also. And so far I love it, but am having a couple of problems. Thanks for posting the support site. I will utilize that site next week as I get ready to tackle some of the minor issues I'm having.
But all in all I really like it. Take a look... Cemetarian sewing patterns postcards photos needlecraft books magazines ephemera |
