Default Can't create Backup or MOVE SITE operation

I am trying to BACKUP a site before the hosting account is moved. When I click on BACKUP it begins but always errors out. I have also tried starting the MOVE SITE procedure and after a few minutes it also errors out:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Also, after attempting a backup, there is a sitebackup.tgz file created in the BACKUPS folder (looked at via FTP) but it is not in the root of the BACKUPS folder, rather it is in a subfolder with a long number on it. Each time I try backing up another folder is created and the backup file is a different size, but nowhere near the size necessary. According to CPANEL, the site is using about 15GB of space total.

What the heck do I do to get this site backed up?

1. Internal server error: It could be one of many possible causes (permission problem, for example). Take a look at server's error log to see exactly what the error(s) are.

2. Since the backup process did not complete, what you described (site_file.tgz in a folder with numerical name) is supposed to be there (the last step puts the entire folder into the final .tgz file, but did not execute). Soho backup only stored essential files and database data. It is MUCH smaller than your site. When you get to restore it, you are expected to have a fresh soho install already in place.
